Advertising guidelines

We only run what we would want to see ourselves. That goes for the broadcast, CattleChannel, the Drive, e-blasts, the podcast, and our events. Here is how we decide, and what we say no to.

The list is people

Over 225,000 folks gave us their email because they wanted market news, not because they wanted to be marketed to. We take that seriously. They are producers, auction owners, and order buyers with a sale to get to, and we treat their inbox like we would want ours treated.

We don’t sell it. Ever.

Nobody gets the list. Not rented, not shared, not sold. When you advertise with us, your message goes out from CattleUSA, under our name, and our people hit send.

If they wouldn’t want it, we don’t send it

That is the whole test. Before anything runs, we ask whether the people reading the Drive or watching a sale would actually want to see it. Plenty of good money has been turned down because the answer was no.

An ad looks like an ad

Sponsors are marked as sponsors. Sale results, market reports, and what we write in the Drive are ours, and no advertiser gets a say in them or a look before they go out.

Good fit

What our folks are buying

  • Feed, mineral, and animal health
  • Equipment, trailers, and trucks
  • Seed, fertilizer, and forage
  • Genetics, semen, and breeding services
  • Ag lending, insurance, and land
  • Fencing, water, and working facilities
  • Livestock auctions, consignment sales, and production sales
  • Ag technology and record keeping

Not accepted

What we won't run

Not a complete list. If it wouldn't fly at the sale, it won't fly here.

  • Get-rich-quick pitches, crypto, and “investment opportunities” we can’t verify
  • Tobacco, vaping, and nicotine
  • Gambling and online casinos
  • Dating services
  • Miracle weight-loss, cosmetic, and wellness claims
  • Alcohol ads that push heavy drinking
  • Anything sexual or suggestive
  • Running down another auction, breed, or company
  • Claims you can’t back up

Labeling

Where your ad shows up, and how it's marked

Broadcast & CattleChannel
Your banner or tile has its own spot on the screen. It never gets mixed into the lot data or the sale results.
Drive & e-blasts
Sponsored spots in the Drive say “Sponsored” or “Presented by.” If we send a dedicated e-blast for you, it is clearly yours, right from the subject line.
Podcast & events
The host says who the sponsor is on air. At events, sponsors are named on the signage and from the stage.
